Pierre Vandamme's native home, Bruges, Belgium, is the waffle capital of the world. Bruges is a true medieval, Belgian city known for its thirteenth century monuments, bridges and romantic scenery.

In Bruges, waffles are made and sold by street vendors, and are considered a delicacy. Local "Bruggelingen" are proud of the yeast raised treats and enjoy eating them at home or while strolling along the streets of Bruges.
